The aim of the NLU3A London History Group is to provide a comfortable walk for exploring the historical interest of a particular area, including viewing buildings, churches, ruins, and open spaces.
We begin at Kings Cross Station to admire its modern architecture. We walk up to the redeveloped area of NC1, and explore the history of its canal, sensitively preserved buildings and other infrastructure associated with the early transport of coal and other goods, together with some interesting modern architecture. We venture out of the development to see an ancient church and its fascinating burial grounds, and a local natural park.
In order to do the walk, you must
- Message the named leader (see below). Please DO NOT turn up without doing this.
- Be able to keep up with an average walking pace.
- Not lag behind the group, so that everyone can hear the information together.
