A talk by Will Rathouse PhD.

He will take us on a virtual guided walk on the Southwark Thames foreshore from London Bridge to Gabriel’s Wharf looking at the varied industrial archaeology of the area.

Will has been working on the Thames Discovery Programme for a little over two years. The Thames Discovery Programme is a citizen science or community archaeology project which monitors and creates records of the archaeological features (e.g. boats, moorings, causeways and fish traps) in the tidal zone of the Thames within Greater London. Since the foreshore is subject to erosion and deposition new features appear and disappear so we aim to preserve them by record before they are washed away.
