Various NLU3A groups are actively looking for new members – please see the list below. If you are interested in joining, please contact the Group Coordinator for more information. Details can be found by clicking the group title, and on the Groups list page of the website.
Country Dancing: we meet weekly on Thursday afternoons (2.00-4.00pm) in the large hall behind Christ Church, 620 High Road, North Finchley, N12 0NU, and there is free parking. It’s a fun and friendly group, and it’s great for mental and physical fitness. We have a professional caller to provide step-by-step guidance, and the cost is £5 per session. Contact Margot Jackson at margot.jackson1@btopenworld.com if you’d like to give it a try.
New Play Reading group: the original Play Reading group is completely full and Linda Sansom is hoping to set up a second group with the people who have been on her waiting list. There is still space for a few additional members, so if you love plays, please contact Linda at lindasansom12@gmail.com for more information.
Theatre Visits group: we are going to the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond on Thursday 3 July to the matinee of Terence Rattigan’s In Praise of Love. We have booked a block of tickets, priced either at £35 or £42 and have a few remaining. If you are interested or would like to know more, contact Henrietta at henanded@gmail.com
Yoga 2 meets every Friday in term time from 11.00am-12.00 noon at The Quaker Meeting House in Alexandra Grove, N12 8HG. We have a professional yoga teacher who is happy for participants to work on a mat on the floor or seated in a chair, or a combination of the two, so the group is suitable for a wide range of yoga experience, or none! We have space for one or two more participants who would get a warm welcome. For more information please contact Henrietta Cohen at henanded@gmail.com
Open groups
Don’t forget that Away Days and Further Away Days are ‘open’ groups, meaning that you don’t need to be a member of the group to attend an event. If there is an outing which you would like to go on, you'll need to contact the Group Coordinator organising that outing, together with payment for any transport or entry charges (if required).
