Groups looking for new members

Various NLU3A groups are actively looking for new members – please see the list below. If you are interested in joining, please contact the Group Coordinator for more information. Details can be found by clicking the group title, and on the Groups list page of the website.

Existing groups

Play Reading: Our Play Reading group has been so successful that we are now considering starting a second Play Reading group. No acting is involved, just a love of plays and reading them in the company of others. If you would like to know more, please contact Linda Sansom at: lindasansom12@gmail.com

Jazz – All That Jazz: we meet fortnightly in members' homes in Finchley Central, on Thursdays from 10.30-12.00. We cover a wide and varied range of jazz music from blues, Dixieland, vocal, big band, through to modern and the current century. For more information please contact Brian Ellis at flam42k@gmail.com

Possible new groups

Yoga: we are considering a mixed yoga group – that is, mat yoga for those who are able, and chair yoga for those who find the floor these days is rather a long way down! The intention is for this group to meet on Friday mornings, but the venue would depend on the number of people wishing to attend. For more information, or to confirm your interest, please contact Henrietta Cohen at: henanded@gmail.com

Ballroom or Latin dance: We have been contacted by an outside group to find out if our members are interested in learning ballroom or Latin dance. We have no further information on this at present, but we expect there would be a charge for participants. We hope to have more information soon, but please contact Henrietta at henanded@gmail.com if you would like to know more.

New groups starting

Bridge (new players and re-starters): Peter Steckelmacher is setting up a bridge group for real beginners and those who learned to play in years gone by and feel they need to start again. He is currently considering 2.00pm -4.00pm on Wednesdays, but this could change. Please contact Peter on petersteck@hotmail.com.

New Scrabble group: If you are interested in joining our new Scrabble group, please contact Martin Summers at martinsumm48@yahoo.co.uk. The group will meet on the
2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 2.00pm at The King of Prussia pub, Regents Park Road, N3.

German Book Club: Are you a German student or a fluent speaker looking to enhance your vocabulary and speaking skills? Our NLU3A German Book Club is the perfect opportunity to dive into German literature, engage in discussions and improve your language fluency in a relaxed environment. There’s no need to speak off the cuff – feel free to write down your comments in advance. We welcome all levels of language proficiency and hold meetings monthly. For more details or to join, please contact Nat at: ntsolak@gmail.com

Open groups

Don’t forget that Away Days and Further Away Days are ‘open’ groups, meaning that you don’t need to be a member of the group to attend an event. If there is an outing which you would like to go on, you'll need to contact the Group Coordinator organising that outing, together with payment for any transport or entry charges (if required).
