The concept of alien life, for many years relegated to the realms of Science Fiction, is now mainstream. Rovers on Mars are actively looking for biological signatures, over 5000 planets have been discovered outside the Solar System, many with Earth-like properties – and astrobiology is now a respected branch of science. So what are the chances that alien life actually exists – and that we could discover it?

In this talk, speaker and retired biochemist Peter Altman discusses all things alien, from UFOs and alien encounters to recent research and the scientific likelihood of alien life. The talk is based on his 2020 book, Mysteries of the Universe.
