Further Away Day visit to Canterbury

There are still places on the Further Away Day trip to Canterbury on Saturday 14 December. This should be a very enjoyable day.

The programme is:

Meet 10:20 am in/just outside the St Pancras National Rail ticket office, or 10:10 am if you do not have a Senior Rail Card and want to be added to a group saver ticket (see flyer and booking form for details) for the 10:40 fast train to Canterbury West (departure from platforms 11-13)
Arrive Canterbury West station 11:34, and walk towards the cathedral (approx 15 minutes walking; there were plenty of taxis at the station when we did a recce).
We found a very nice coffee place in Mercery Lane, close to the cathedral, and we have made a booking there. We will finalise numbers with them on the day.
12:30 pm group visit to the cathedral (£15.50 - pay in advance with booking form).
From 1:30 pm explore the Christmas market. For the first time the market is in the cathedral grounds, as well as in adjacent areas. Food is available in the market area, and there are lots of eateries near to the cathedral, including our coffee place .
Return trains: 23 minutes past the hour. Those on a group saver ticket will have to return together at a fixed train time.
