Meeting point: Meet outside Barnet College in Wood Street at 9.50am
Join us for a walk through 1000 years of history. See the brewery that became a town hall, and a church that became a shopping centre. Marvel at some truly beautiful houses and alms-houses. Hear about the Battle of Barnet, and a fair that was so famous that Cossacks flocked to it, and so infamous that the Victorians tried to close it down.
The walk is led by Paul Baker, a qualified City Guide and a member of Barnet U3A.
To book, please contact the organiser Sally Atkinson by 12 August. Minimum 10 and maximum 20 people.
