As the final court of appeal for the UK, the Supreme Court plays a vital role in UK life, making legal decisions on everything from commercial, employment and public law, to family law and human rights. These decisions affect people's lives and help shape our society – but how are they made, and who makes them? In this talk, Vicky Fox, CEO of the UK Supreme Court, will explore how the court delivers justice and its contribution to society.
As Supreme Court CEO, Vicky has responsibility for all the non-judicial functions of the court. She has 15 years' experience as a government lawyer, and has held senior roles at the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority and the Electoral Commission. Vicky was included in the 2019 Timewise Power 50 List, and she is passionate about equality and fairness.
