Linley Sambourne House

Event type: Away Day
Date: Fri 27 Jan 2023
Time: 11:00am - 1:00pm

The house was the home of Edward Linley Sambourne (1844-1910), artist and illustrator, best known for contributing more than 3000 cartoons to Punch magazine. It was inherited by his grand-daughter Anne, later Countess of Rosse, mother of Antony Armstrong-Jones, who preserved the Victorian interiors almost intact and eventually gave the house to the Victorian Society, which had been founded there in 1958. It is now administered by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
The visit is limited to a group of 12–15 people and costs £15 per head, so early booking is desirable.
