In October 2021 the new Holocaust Galleries were opened at the Imperial War Museum. The new galleries’ Head of Content, James Bulgin, will take us through their development from inception to opening. James will discuss the central ideas behind the galleries and how the team sought to achieve them, sharing some of the challenges faced and how his team navigated the final phases of the project through the pandemic.

Before joining IWM James worked as a commercial theatre producer and director. He holds an MA in Holocaust Studies, and is currently completing a PhD at Royal Holloway College, London, on ideas of apocalypse in Holocaust and Cold War history. He has given talks in Germany, Israel and the UK.
