The Shape of London group has decided to rerun a number of their presentations and make them available on Zoom to those members who may have mobility issues, or anyone else who may be interested in the subject. This talk given by Keith Kirby covers the history of alms-houses in London.
Alms-houses have provided accommodation for people on low incomes for over 1000 years and they still play a role today. This presentation will review their history, highlight some local examples and look at some issues confronting alms-houses today. After the presentation, lasting about half an hour, there will be time for comments and questions.
