This talk will cover the historical background, an assessment and consideration of the genre of G&S, a look at the vast amount of social and political satire within the shows, and finally will assess the world-wide popularity of G&S into the 21st Century.
The presenter, Bernard Lockett is a life-long enthusiast of G&S and an author, two of his books are about G&S. Since 2007 he has been a Trustee of the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival and the National Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Co.
