Have you ever thought of writing about your life – whether for your children and grandchildren, your own interest, or for posterity – but don’t know where to start? The idea of recording one’s own life became particularly popular during the Covid lockdowns, when we all had to find projects to do at home. And today, living history archives provide valuable resources for historians.
This talk provides practical advice on ways to record your life story and what to include in it, where to find information, and how to produce your book when it’s written. Speaker Jo Livingston has run a Life Story group at Bexley U3A since 2005 and she is the U3A’s national subject adviser for living history. Jo edited the U3A’s book of members’ experiences during Covid, u3a in the Time of Corona.
