at the River Lea

This year we will complete walking the Lea Valley from Broxbourne to the Thames, sometimes by the River Lea Navigation, sometimes by the river itself until it changes its name to Bow Creek and enters the Thames.

Next year we will follow the New River (essentially a water conduit not a river), enjoying another look at the Lea Valley and its gardens (Myddleton House and Forty Hall) and its urban ending in Islington. In the summer we re-visit old favourites along the Thames and try out new walks where its muddy paths have dried out nicely for us.

Our delightful "walks by water" are about three miles long and take place on the third Thursday of the month.
