Socrates is supposed to have claimed that the unexamined life 'was not worth living'. How could we examine it?

It is easier to punch fog than to agree on a precise definition of philosophy - and there are multiple ways of 'thinking about thinking' - but this group will be looking either at individual thinkers (eg Plato, Descartes), or else addressing particular topics (eg 'What is truth?', 'How should we treat other people?'. An initial presentation, preferably with differing members taking ownership each session, would be followed by a discussion.

Our first meeting will take place on Thursday 19 September on zoom from 2.30-4.00pm, and thereafter at four-weekly intervals.
